The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

I have been lucky enough to have visited some of the exotic places both within the country and abroad but when I rewind and think about the moments that I truly enjoyed and would stay with me forever, I realize it wasn’t the moment I proudly stood at the top of the pulpit rock in Norway or when I walked on one of the largest salt deserts in the world in Kutch or when I went Flamingo chasing in Gujarat or when I spotted leopard on a tree in Kabini but it was the time I spent on an easy chair in the backyard of a river resort sipping my tea while watching the gentle river shimmering in golden light of the sunset, it was the time I spent on a rocky mountain summit feeling the wind swirling around me, it was the time I strolled aimlessly around a small port with a beer bottle in my hand…those were my Dolce far Niente moments – the time I spent doing nothing.
