I, Dracula

I suspect I'm turning into a vampire.

No, I'm not sitting with a lampshade on my head in a drunken stupor. As I write this, its 12:30 midnight, yet, I'm brimming with life. I'm looking for ways to burn some energy. The wife has declared a headache so there's nothing to do in that front. What else shall I do? Should I go crawling down the building wall, upside down?

All day long in office, I sit low and deep into my chair, my eyes pale and limbs barely moving. At times when I have to move around, my body behaves like I have no control over it. It’s a fight to make it respond. I drag my legs and lumber along. I’m a corporate zombie.

I may soon look like this. Yeah, it’s my own photo, worked in photoshop

But, as soon as the sun goes down in the evening and the night has begun, blood starts pumping into my veins again. I slowly come back to life. The colors return to my face, my eyes shine. Sometimes I kick balls in a football ground to exhaust myself. I stay awake until the first rays of morning light hit my window.

Now, what is that I hear? Is that dogs barking outside my gate? Oh, what sweet music they make. They are the children of the night.
