A Birthday Post: Birth of a Legend
Thanks to all those who wished me yesterday on my birthday, and advance thanks to all those who are going to send me belated wishes – take your time, you have time till next year August 5th.
In case you don’t know, there’s a theory related to my birth. 6th August was the date Jesus Christ finally decided to head back home to heaven after his resurrection from the dead. So when Christ went back to Heaven, the almighty God wasn’t happy about the void he left and HE was desperate to fill it and after mulling over it for centuries, on 6th August 30 years back (yes, Joshi Mukard will always be 30 till he dies) he created a human being designed to make this world a better place for those who got in touch with him. The rest is history, geography and poor mathematics.
But unfortunately my wife doesn’t think so. She still believes that the worst thing ever happened to her was getting to meet me. Sigh. Actually my wife relates my birthday to the day the Americans dropped the world’s first atom bomb over the city of Hiroshima which happened on 6th August (1945). I remember a Tamil metaphorical proverb; Kaluthaiku theriyuma karpoora vasanai? Which can be re-worded in English to something like – Does a donkey appreciate the taste of doughnut? (I hope she doesn’t read this otherwise my birthday could become my death day, LOL)
Whatever…let me not get too deep into the subject.
Anyway, thanks to you all. Special thanks to Standard Charted Bank which sent me the first birthday message of the day – I don’t know whether they were trying to remind me of the unpaid loan amount this month. But as long as they don’t pester me for it, it remains: Standard Chartered Bank –Financial partner and Friend!! I need to check whether they have sent me a Facebook friend request.
Well, if you saw me wearing the same old clothes yesterday and wondered why I didn’t get anything new for myself, don’t you worry, I have got a new underwear.
Happy Birthday! 🙂
And hehe, about the Standard Chartered message

HDFC is also great with birthday greetings. They sent me a neat print-30-photos voucher the last time. Happy I was. 🙂
Yeah, HDFC is well know for that.
My birthday was as usual, nothing special – just like any other day.
