My Father is a Zero!!

Of all the things I inherited from my father, the most important one is self-deprecating humor. Almost 30 years back, he was a rich man then his business collapsed and he lost all his money and his hair too. Now he jokes, ” you know, your grandfather was a brilliant man. He knew that one day I would become an ’empty’ man that’s why he gave me the initial ‘M.T'”. Yes, my father’s initial is M.T . His favourite shirt brand is Zero!! Lol. Now you may wonder what are the other things I inherited from him, well, an old Videocon television and a teak-wood chair!!

But, the ‘self-mocking’ humor which I inherited from my father is the only quality in me that people who knows me appreciates and likes. If I have become a decently successful blogger, that’s only because of the humor I inherited from him. When my readers say my blog acts like a mood-lifter and when one reader called me, with overwhelming exaggeration, a “master of self-depreciating humor”, I couldn’t thank my father enough. No matter whatever I have done so far in my life, had I not inherited the ability to laugh at myself, my life would have been EMPTY.
